The beer that changed Irish brewing history. Now on tap in Hout Bay.
In 2017 Sullivan’s Brewing Company from Kilkenny, Ireland made history. They became the first Irish brewery ever to win the World Champion Keg trophy at the International Brewing & Distilling Awards — known as the Oscars of the beer world. Over 1200 beers from 50 countries competed. Sullivan’s won. First time in 131 years of the competition that an Irish brewery pulled it off.
And here is the part that feels almost too good to be true. Sullivan’s was founded in 1702. Kronendal was built in 1713. Eleven years apart — and three centuries later they finally share the same bar, right here in Hout Bay.
We have 4 styles on tap: Stout · Red Ale · Pilsner · Pale Ale — all R49. Every tap, every day. Not a special, not happy hour. Just a world champion at a price that makes you smile.
Pair it with our Fish & Chips - R99
Our fish comes fresh from Hout Bay harbour — one of the most iconic fishing ports on the South African coast. Caught locally, prepared daily, served with proper chips and all the trimmings. There is no fresher fish & chips in Cape Town. We’d bet our R49 pint on it.
Valid with purchase of any Sullivan’s beer · Bar only · Paid at the bar
